Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(You admit into the Fire) – i.e., cause to enter Hell.
(You have disgraced him) – humiliated, shamed, and exposed him publicly.
(The wrongdoers) – those who wrong themselves through disbelief, sin, and transgression.
(Helpers/Supporters) – anyone who could rescue, defend, or intercede on their behalf.

Explanation of the Verse:

This is the heartfelt supplication of the believers, continuing their profound prayer to their Lord. They say: *"Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit into the Fire – You have surely disgraced him."* The meaning is that entering Hell is the ultimate humiliation and exposure of one's sins before all of creation. There is no greater shame than being cast into the blazing Fire, stripped of all dignity, in the sight of the angels, the prophets, and all of mankind. The believer understands that the Fire is not merely physical torment, but also a state of utter disgrace and ruin.

Then they add: *"And for the wrongdoers, there are no helpers."* On that Day, those who oppressed themselves by rejecting faith and committing sins will find no one to save them. No friend, no relative, no powerful intercessor, and no false deity they once worshipped will be able to shield them from Allah's punishment. All alliances and supports will vanish, and every soul will stand alone before its Creator, reaping what it sowed.

This verse teaches us a profound truth: that true honour lies in obedience to Allah, and true disgrace lies in His punishment. The believers, in their supplication, are not merely asking for Paradise – they are asking to be saved from the very possibility of shame and humiliation. They recognise that Allah's justice is absolute, and that the wrongdoers will have no escape.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this beautiful supplication. The believers who made this dua were not people of sin and heedlessness – they were the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the righteous predecessors. Yet, despite their piety, they feared the Fire and pleaded with Allah to save them from it. This teaches us that no one is safe from Allah's punishment except by His mercy. So, how can we, with all our shortcomings, afford to be negligent?

Let this verse inspire you to turn back to Allah sincerely. The door of repentance is open, and Allah's mercy is vast. He does not wish to disgrace His servants; rather, He calls them to His forgiveness and Paradise. Make this dua your own, and let it awaken in your heart a deep longing for Allah's protection and a firm resolve to live a life that pleases Him. For the one who is saved from the Fire has indeed achieved the greatest success, and the one who is admitted into it has lost everything – with no helper, no saviour, and no second chance.

📜 Verse 190-194 — Aal-Imran

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers.
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise."
