Surah Ad-Dukhan — Verse 32

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) reminds us of His great favor upon the Children of Israel. He chose them and elevated them above all the nations of their era, and this choice was not arbitrary or random—rather, it was based on His infinite and perfect knowledge of their circumstances, their potential, and what they would carry of divine responsibility.

Allah selected the Children of Israel during their time to be the bearers of His message, the recipients of His scriptures, and the community among whom numerous prophets and messengers were raised. They were given leadership in faith, knowledge, and divine guidance. This selection was a great honor, yet it also came with a heavy responsibility—to uphold the covenant, to worship Allah alone, and to convey His message to humanity.

The phrase "with knowledge" carries a profound meaning: Allah's choice was not a test or a guess, but a deliberate, wise decision rooted in His absolute awareness of all things—the seen and the unseen, the apparent and the hidden. He knew what they would do, how they would respond to His blessings, and what their destiny would be.

This verse serves as a powerful reminder for us today: when Allah grants us blessings, honors, or positions, it is always with His perfect knowledge and wisdom. Nothing happens by chance. Every favor we receive is a trust and a test. The Children of Israel were chosen and given so much, yet many of them failed to fulfill their covenant. This is a lesson for us to be grateful, to remain steadfast, and to use every blessing we receive in obedience to Allah.
