Word Meanings:

  • Tabāraka: How abundant and immense the blessings are; it denotes the perfection of goodness and the multiplication of blessings.
  • Dhī al-Jalāl: The Owner of absolute majesty, grandeur, and supreme glory.
  • Al-Ikrām: The One Who bestows honor, generosity, and kindness upon His righteous servants.

Explanation of the Verse:

This concluding verse of Surah Ar-Rahman is a glorious seal upon the entire chapter. It proclaims: "Blessed and exalted is the Name of your Lord, the Owner of Majesty and Honor."

The phrase "Tabāraka" signifies that the Name of your Lord—and indeed His very Essence—is the source of all blessings, goodness, and abundance. His Name is not like any other name; it carries within it the power to heal, to guide, and to transform lives. When you utter His Name, you connect to the infinite mercy and generosity of the Creator.

"Dhī al-Jalāl" describes His absolute majesty—His greatness that fills the heavens and the earth, His power that knows no limits, and His glory that surpasses all comprehension. Every atom in existence bows to His grandeur.

"Wal-Ikrām" reveals His beautiful attribute of honoring His creation. He does not merely rule with power; He showers His servants with generosity, forgiveness, and kindness. He honors the believer with His guidance, His mercy, and ultimately, with the vision of His Noble Face in Paradise—the greatest honor of all.

This verse beautifully concludes the chapter that repeatedly asked, "Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?" After enumerating countless blessings—from the creation of the heavens and the earth to the gardens of Paradise—the chapter ends by directing our hearts to the ultimate source of all blessings: Allah Himself, the Owner of Majesty and Honor.

A Da'wah Reflection:

Dear reader, when you finish reciting this magnificent chapter, let your heart pause at this final verse. The One who created the sun, the moon, the stars, the oceans, and the gardens of delight—His Name alone is a source of endless blessings. Every good thing you have ever experienced, every moment of joy, every breath you take—all flow from His boundless generosity.

If you seek honor, know that true honor lies in connecting to the Owner of Honor. If you seek majesty, know that all majesty belongs to Him alone. Make His Name the constant companion of your tongue, and His remembrance the comfort of your heart. For in remembering Him, you find peace; in praising Him, you find elevation; and in loving Him, you find the ultimate purpose of your existence.

Let this verse be your daily reminder that no matter what trials you face, your Lord—the Owner of Majesty and Honor—is always near, always generous, and always ready to honor those who turn to Him with sincere hearts.
