Surah Al-Hadid — Verse 1

Word Meanings:

• سَبَّحَ (Sabbaha): To glorify, declare far removed from any imperfection or deficiency, and to exalt Allah above all that does not befit His majesty.
• مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ (Ma fi al-samawati wal-ard): Everything that exists in the heavens and the earth — all created beings, animate and inanimate.

His might is absolute and unchallenged — no power in the universe can resist His will or escape His authority. Yet His might is never arbitrary or unjust; it is always accompanied by His perfect wisdom. He does not act without purpose, and His decree over all affairs is precisely measured and profoundly wise.
