Explanation of the Verse:
This verse comes as a solemn affirmation following a series of divine oaths — by the moon, the night as it departs, and the dawn as it brightens — all pointing to the truth of the Resurrection and the reality of the Hereafter. Here, Allah declares that the Fire of Hell, known as Saqar, is undeniably one of the greatest calamities imaginable. It is not a minor punishment or a fleeting hardship; rather, it is a catastrophe of unparalleled magnitude, a torment so severe that no human mind can fully comprehend its intensity.
The verse serves as a stark warning to all of humanity. It strips away any illusion that the consequences of our actions are trivial or that the Day of Judgment is a distant myth. The Fire is real, it is near, and it is among the most colossal trials that any soul could face. Yet, this warning is not meant to despair us — it is a mercy from Allah, a wake-up call that invites us to reflect, repent, and return to Him before it is too late.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, pause for a moment and let the weight of this verse settle in your heart. The Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who never breaks His promise, has told us plainly that Hell is one of the greatest disasters. He did not leave us ignorant; He gave us the Quran, the prophets, and countless signs so that we might choose the path of safety. This verse is a loving call from your Lord: "I have warned you, so do not let yourselves be deceived by the fleeting pleasures of this world." Every prayer you offer, every sin you avoid, every act of kindness you perform is a step away from this immense calamity and toward the eternal bliss of Paradise. Let this knowledge move you — not to fear alone, but to hope in Allah’s mercy, for He has opened the door of repentance wide. Run to Him now, before the dawn of your life fades, and make your soul a companion of the righteous.
