Surah Al-Layl — Verse 4

After Allah Almighty swears by the night when it covers the earth with its darkness, by the day when it shines forth with its light, and by the creation of the two genders — male and female — He declares the central truth of this verse: "Indeed, your striving is truly diverse."

Some people strive for the good of this world alone, chasing after wealth, status, and fleeting pleasures. Others strive for the Hereafter, seeking Allah's pleasure through righteous deeds, worship, and service to humanity. Some deeds are good and pleasing to Allah, leading to Paradise, while others are evil and incur His displeasure, leading to the Fire. Your actions are scattered across a spectrum — some align with divine pleasure, others with divine wrath.
