Surah Yusuf — Verse 41

Explanation of the Verse:

O my two fellow prisoners, I will now interpret your dreams for you. As for the one who saw himself pressing grapes: he will be released from prison and will return to his former position, serving wine to his master, the king. As for the other who saw himself carrying bread on his head from which birds were eating: he will be crucified, and birds will eat from his head. The matter you asked about has been decided and fulfilled — it is inevitable and will certainly come to pass.

When the two prisoners heard this clear and decisive interpretation, they admitted that they had only been playing and had not actually seen any dream. But Yusuf (peace be upon him) affirmed that the decree had already been issued, whether they were truthful or not in their claim — for what he had interpreted was the reality of their situation, and it would undoubtedly occur.
