Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • Jannāt (جَنَّاتٍ): Gardens of Paradise, lush and eternal.
  • Tajrī min taḥtihā al-anhār (تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ): Rivers flowing beneath them—beneath the palaces, trees, and elevated dwellings.
  • Khālidīn (خَالِدِينَ): Abiding forever, never leaving, never dying.
  • Bi-idhni Rabbihim (بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ): By the permission and command of their Lord—an entry granted solely through His will, power, and grace.
  • Taḥiyyatuhum (تَحِيَّتُهُمْ): Their greeting or salutation—what they receive and exchange upon arrival.
  • Salām (سَلَامٌ): Peace—a comprehensive, perfect peace from all harm, fear, and deficiency.

The Explanation of the Verse:

After mentioning the fate of the wrongdoers who are cast into Hell, Allah—in His perfect justice and mercy—now turns to the blessed destiny of the believers. He says that those who truly believed in Allah and His Messenger, and whose faith was not a mere claim but was proven through righteous deeds—prayer, charity, kindness, honesty, and every act of goodness—will be admitted into magnificent gardens of Paradise. Beneath these gardens, rivers flow continuously, running under the palaces and trees, providing beauty, sustenance, and tranquility. The believers will dwell there forever, never to leave, never to age, and never to face any hardship. This eternal entry is not by their own merit alone, but by the permission of their Lord—a reminder that even their good deeds were made possible by Allah’s grace, and their reward is a gift from Him.

When they enter Paradise, they will be greeted with the word "Salām"—peace. The angels will welcome them with peace, the believers will greet one another with peace, and above all, their Lord will honor them with His divine salutation of peace. This greeting is not merely a word; it is a reality—they will experience absolute safety from every fear, every sorrow, and every imperfection. No evil will touch them, no sadness will visit them, and no enmity will exist among them. Their hearts will be pure, their surroundings serene, and their joy complete.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this beautiful promise. Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, has prepared for His believing servants a home of eternal peace—where rivers flow, where hearts are content, and where the very greeting is "peace." This is not a distant fantasy; it is a certain reality that awaits those who choose faith and good deeds in this fleeting world. Every prayer you offer, every honest transaction you make, every kind word you speak, and every tear you shed for His sake is a seed planted for this eternal garden.

Let this verse inspire you to strengthen your faith and increase your righteous actions. Do not let the temptations of this world distract you from what truly matters. The journey may be challenging, but the destination is beyond imagination. And remember: entry into Paradise is by Allah’s permission—so turn to Him sincerely, seek His mercy, and strive in His path. He is the Most Generous, and His promise is true. May we all be among those who are greeted with "Salām" in the gardens of delight.

📜 Verse 21-25 — Ibrahim

And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."
And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."
And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!"
Have you not considered how Allah presents an example, [making] a good word like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and its branches [high] in the sky?
It produces its fruit all the time, by permission of its Lord. And Allah presents examples for the people that perhaps they will be reminded.
