Word Meanings:

(Al-Mala'ikah): The angels, the noble heavenly beings created by Allah from light.
(Bil-Haqq): With the truth, meaning with what is just and appropriate according to divine wisdom — either with revelation or with inevitable punishment.
(Munthareen): Given respite, delayed, or granted additional time before punishment.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah Almighty responds to the disbelievers who insolently demanded that angels be sent down to them, either to prove the truth of the Prophet's message or to bring about their punishment. Allah clarifies that He does not send down the angels except with the truth — that is, with what is fitting and required by His perfect wisdom. This could mean sending them with divine revelation to the prophets, or sending them at the moment when a people's destruction has been decreed, as a sign that their final hour has arrived.

The verse then delivers a stern warning: if the angels were to descend upon them as they demanded, they would not be granted any respite or delay. Their punishment would be immediate and inescapable. The very sight of the angels would mark the end of their worldly existence, leaving no room for repentance or second chances. This is a powerful reminder that the disbelievers' demand was not a trivial matter — it was a request that would seal their fate.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, ponder the profound mercy of Allah in this verse! He does not hasten to punish those who reject His message, but instead grants them time, perhaps to reflect, to repent, and to return to Him. The fact that angels have not descended upon you in punishment is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of His boundless patience and love for His creation. Allah says elsewhere: "And Allah would not punish them while you are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness" (Al-Anfal: 33).

Let this verse inspire you to seize the precious opportunity of life before it is too late. Do not be like those who demanded signs and miracles, only to face destruction when those signs arrived. Instead, open your heart to the greatest sign of all — the Quran itself, a living miracle that guides to every good. Embrace Islam with sincerity, and you will find peace in this world and salvation in the next. The door of repentance is open, but it will not remain open forever. Hasten to your Lord before the angels descend with a decree that leaves no room for delay!

📜 Verse 6-10 — Al-Hijr

And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad.
Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?"
We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved.
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples.
