Word Meanings:

The angels take their souls completely at the moment of death.
Those who have wronged themselves through disbelief and sin.
They submit and surrender fully, yielding to the inevitable reality of death.
Any evil, wrongdoing, or sin.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse paints a profound and sobering scene of the final moments for those who have lived in a state of self-inflicted injustice—chiefly through disbelief in Allah and persistent disobedience. When the angels of death come to take their souls, these individuals are caught in a state of wrongdoing, having oppressed their own souls by rejecting the truth and following their desires.

At that critical juncture, when the reality of death becomes undeniable and the veil of this worldly life is lifted, they suddenly surrender completely. They realize they cannot escape, resist, or bargain. In a desperate attempt to save themselves, they deny their past misdeeds, saying: *"We were not doing any evil."* They try to disown their actions, hoping that denial might somehow alter their fate.

But the response comes swiftly and decisively: *"Yes, indeed! Allah is All-Knowing of what you used to do."* Their denial is futile because Allah, the All-Knowing, is fully aware of every deed, every word, and every hidden intention. Nothing escapes His knowledge—not the sins committed in secret, not the wrongs done in public, and not the disbelief they harbored in their hearts.

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that no one can deceive Allah, and no amount of denial on the Day of Judgment will change what has been recorded. The angels, as executors of Allah's command, make it clear that the truth is known, and every soul will be recompensed exactly for what it earned.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart before death overtakes you. The time to correct our course is now—in this life, where repentance is accepted, where mercy is available, and where every sincere turn back to Allah is embraced. Do not wait until the angels come to take your soul, for at that moment, no excuse will avail you, and no denial will save you.

Allah, in His infinite mercy, has given us this life as an opportunity. He has sent His messengers, revealed His books, and made the path of guidance clear. The door of repentance remains open until the soul reaches the throat. So hasten to return to your Lord, purify your heart from disbelief and sin, and live a life that pleases Him. For on that Day, the truth will be laid bare, and Allah's knowledge will encompass everything you did—so make your deeds worthy of His mercy and His eternal reward.

📜 Verse 26-30 — An-Nahl

Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.
Then on the Day of Resurrection He will disgrace them and say, "Where are My 'partners' for whom you used to oppose [the believers]?" Those who were given knowledge will say, "Indeed disgrace, this Day, and evil are upon the disbelievers" -
The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do.
So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant.
And it will be said to those who feared Allah, "What did your Lord send down?" They will say, "[That which is] good." For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous -
