Tafsir (Explanation):
Allah, in His infinite mercy and wisdom, reminds us of the countless blessings He has bestowed upon us. He made our permanent homes—built from stone, brick, and other materials—a source of tranquility and rest, where we find peace with our families and refuge from the hardships of the world.
But His care does not stop there. For those who travel, whether for trade, pilgrimage, or other journeys, He created from the skins of cattle (camels, cows, and sheep) portable dwellings—tents and pavilions. These are wonderfully light and easy to carry when you move from one place to another, and just as easy to set up when you settle, even for a short stay. They protect you from the heat, cold, and wind, giving you comfort wherever you go.
Furthermore, from the wool of sheep, the fur of camels, and the hair of goats, Allah has provided you with furnishings and goods—carpets, blankets, clothing, and other essentials that adorn your homes and bring you comfort and beauty. You enjoy these blessings and benefit from them throughout your lives, until the appointed time that Allah has decreed for each of you.
Reflect on this: every tent you pitch, every blanket you wrap around yourself, every rug you sit on—all of it is a gift from your Lord, designed to ease your life and remind you of His boundless love. So let gratitude fill your heart, and let this awareness draw you closer to the One who has given you all of this and more. Indeed, in these blessings are clear signs for a people who reflect and give thanks.
