Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Tilka (Those): Refers to the stories and signs mentioned in the preceding verses about the prophets and the battles they fought.
- Āyātullāh (Verses/Signs of Allah): The clear proofs, miracles, and revelations that Allah has sent down.
- Natlūhā (We recite them): We convey them to you, O Prophet, with precise wording and truthful meaning.
- Bil-Ḥaqq (In truth): With absolute certainty, free from any falsehood or distortion.
- Lamin al-Mursalīn (Indeed among the Messengers): A confirmation that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is truly one of the messengers sent by Allah.
Tafsir (Explanation):
These verses and stories that have been mentioned — the accounts of the prophets, their nations, the battles of Badr and Uḥud, and the lessons drawn from them — are the clear signs of Allah. He recites them to you, O Muhammad, with absolute truth and certainty, containing truthful reports and just rulings. There is no falsehood in them, no exaggeration, and no omission.
And this very recitation is itself a proof that you, O Prophet, are indeed one of the messengers sent by the Lord of all worlds. For no human being could have produced such accurate accounts of past nations and unseen events without divine revelation. These stories confirm your prophethood and testify to your truthfulness.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, pause and reflect on the beauty of this verse. Allah Himself is speaking to His beloved Prophet ﷺ, reassuring him and affirming his status. And through this verse, Allah is also speaking to you — inviting you to recognize the truth of Islam.
These signs are not mere historical tales; they are living lessons filled with guidance for every generation. When you read the Quran, you are reading the very words of your Creator — words that are true, just, and free from any error. This is an honor that no other book on earth can claim.
