Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- نُسَبِّحَكَ (nusabbihaka): We glorify You, declare Your absolute perfection, and exalt You above any imperfection or deficiency.
- كَثِيرًا (kathiran): Abundantly, frequently, and continuously — not just once or occasionally, but as a constant state of worship.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this verse, Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) concludes his heartfelt supplication to Allah by stating the ultimate purpose behind his requests. He had asked Allah to expand his chest, ease his task, loosen his tongue so people could understand his speech, and grant him his brother Harun (Aaron) as a supporter and partner in the prophetic mission. Now, he explains why he sought all of this: "So that we may glorify You abundantly" — meaning, so that he and his brother Harun could engage in extensive, continuous tasbih (declaring Allah's perfection and transcendence), praising Him, remembering Him, and calling others to His worship.
This shows that the ultimate goal of all power, ability, and assistance is not personal gain or status, but the worship of Allah and the establishment of His remembrance on earth. Musa did not ask for these blessings for worldly reasons; rather, he wanted them as tools to serve a higher purpose — the glorification and remembrance of Allah in abundance.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, ponder the beautiful humility of Prophet Musa — a mighty prophet of Allah, yet he asked for help from his brother and sought ease in his mission, all for the sake of glorifying Allah more. This teaches us that whatever abilities, resources, or support we have in life should be directed toward the remembrance of Allah and serving His cause. When you wake up each morning, remember that your tongue, your strength, and your time are all gifts — use them to glorify Allah often, in your prayers, in your words, and in your deeds. The more you remember Allah, the more your heart finds peace, and the more your life gains purpose. Let every breath be a tasbih, and every action a step toward His pleasure. This is the path of the prophets, and it is open to you as well — so seize it with sincerity and love.
