Surah Al-Anbiya — Verse 107

• "Rahmah" (رَحْمَةً): Mercy, compassion, and kindness that brings benefit and wards off harm.
• "Al-'Alameen" (لِلْعَالَمِينَ): All of creation — mankind, jinn, and everything that exists in the heavens and the earth.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this profound verse, Allah addresses His beloved Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) with a statement that encapsulates the very essence of his mission: *"And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds."*

This means that the Prophet's sending was not for a single nation, tribe, or era — nor was it for destruction or punishment of any people. Rather, his mission was a universal mercy encompassing all of creation. For those who believe in him and follow his guidance, this mercy is complete and everlasting — they attain happiness in this life and salvation in the Hereafter, entering Paradise and escaping the Fire. For those who do not believe, the Prophet's coming was still a mercy in this worldly life, as Allah delayed their punishment and did not destroy them with the collective calamities that befell previous nations who rejected their messengers. The Prophet's very presence among them, his character, his patience, and his supplications for their guidance were all manifestations of divine mercy.

This mercy was not limited to human beings alone — it extended to the jinn, to animals, and to the entire universe. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught kindness to animals, care for the environment, justice for all people regardless of race or status, and compassion in every affair. His teachings brought balance to the earth and mercy to all who dwell upon it.

Dear reader, ponder this magnificent description of the Prophet's mission. Allah did not say "a mercy to the believers" or "a mercy to the Arabs" — He said "a mercy to the worlds." This is an open invitation to every human being, in every time and place, to draw near to this fountain of mercy. The Prophet's message is not a burden — it is a healing for hearts, a light for minds, and a path to true peace. Whoever embraces it finds mercy flowing into every corner of their existence. Whoever turns away from it deprives themselves of the greatest gift ever offered to humanity. Open your heart to this mercy today, and you will find in it everything your soul has been searching for — tranquility in this life and eternal bliss in the next.
