Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

Let them not turn you away" — i.e., do not let them divert or deter you.
The verses/signs of Allah" — His revealed revelations and clear proofs.
And call/invite" — to summon people with wisdom and gentleness.
Of those who associate partners" — those who worship anything alongside Allah.

Explanation of the Verse:

This noble verse carries a profound message of steadfastness and unwavering commitment. Allah addresses His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with a divine command that echoes through time to every believer: "Let not the disbelievers and polytheists turn you away from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you." This means that no matter how much pressure, mockery, or opposition comes from those who reject the truth, you must not abandon the recitation, teaching, and implementation of Allah's revelations. The revelation has already come — it is a trust and a light that must be conveyed, regardless of the obstacles.

Then comes the second command: "And call to your Lord" — meaning, invite all of humanity to the worship of Allah alone, to His oneness (Tawheed), and to living by His divine law. This call should be continuous, patient, and filled with wisdom, for it is the very purpose of prophethood and the mission of every believer who carries the torch of guidance.

The verse concludes with a powerful warning: "And never be among the polytheists." This is not merely a prohibition of outward shirk (associating partners with Allah), but also a command to remain pure in intention, action, and belief — to never compromise the core of faith for worldly gain, fear, or social pressure. The believer must stand firmly as a monotheist, devoted entirely to Allah, not swayed by the currents of disbelief.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, this verse is a living lesson for you and me today. In a world filled with distractions, temptations, and pressures to conform, Allah reminds us that His guidance is our anchor. When you hold onto the Quran, when you call others to goodness, and when you refuse to dilute your faith for anyone or anything, you are walking the path of the prophets. This is the path of honor, dignity, and ultimate success. Let this verse inspire you to be unshakable in your faith — speak the truth, live the truth, and never let anyone turn you away from the light that has been revealed to your heart. The reward of Allah is far greater than any temporary comfort gained by compromise. Stand firm, and you will find Allah with you, guiding you and elevating your rank.

📜 Verse 85-88 — Al-Qasas

Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur'an will take you back to a place of return. Say, "My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance and who is in clear error."
And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but [it is] a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers.
And never let them avert you from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite [people] to your Lord. And never be of those who associate others with Allah.
And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.
