Translation — Tafsir

- Ikhtilaf al-Layl wal-Nahar (اخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ): The alternation and succession of night and day — their coming and going, and their variation in length (longer and shorter) throughout the seasons.

- Uli al-Albab (أُولِي الْأَلْبَاب): People of sound intellect and pure, discerning minds — those who use their reason to reflect and draw lessons.
The Interpretation:
In this profound verse, Allah draws the attention of humanity to the magnificent universe around them, inviting every thinking soul to reflect deeply. The creation of the heavens and the earth — their immense size, perfect order, and intricate design — did not come into being by chance or accident. They were brought into existence from absolute nothingness by the will and power of the Almighty, who created them with no prior example to follow. Every galaxy, every star, every mountain, and every ocean is a living witness to His boundless wisdom and perfect craftsmanship.
Moreover, the alternation of night and day — how one follows the other in perfect precision, never delaying or advancing — and their variation in length, with the night growing shorter as the day grows longer and vice versa, is a continuous, ever-present miracle. This rhythmic cycle sustains life on Earth, regulates seasons, and provides balance for all creatures. It is a sign that repeats itself every single day, yet how many of us pause to ponder its meaning?
These are not mere coincidences; they are clear signs and undeniable proofs for those who possess sound intellects — people who do not let their minds be clouded by arrogance or blind following. Such people look at the universe with the eyes of their hearts, and every scene they witness strengthens their faith and leads them to a single, undeniable conclusion: there is no god but Allah, the Creator, the Sustainer, and the Only One worthy of worship.
Dear reader, your intellect is a gift from Allah — a light to guide you through the darkness of ignorance. He did not create this universe for you to pass by it carelessly. He created it as an open book, filled with lessons for those who wish to know their Lord. So look up at the sky, walk upon the earth, and reflect on the cycle of day and night. Let every sunrise and every sunset remind you of His greatness. Let the vastness of the heavens humble your soul, and let the precision of His creation fill your heart with love and awe for Him.
This is the essence of faith: to see the Creator through His creation, to recognize His power through His signs, and to submit to Him alone — for He is the One who created you, sustains you, and will one day bring you back to Him. Open your mind, purify your heart, and let these signs lead you to the ultimate truth: La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god but Allah).
