Translation — Tafsir
Key Words and Their Meanings:
- Khālidīna fīhā abadā — Dwelling therein forever, without end or interruption.
- Lā yajidūna waliyyan — They will not find any protector or guardian to care for them or intercede on their behalf.
- Wa lā naṣīrā — Nor any helper who could come to their aid or rescue them from the punishment.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse paints a stark and sobering picture of the fate that awaits those who persist in disbelief and reject the message of their Lord. After mentioning that Allah has prepared a blazing fire for the disbelievers — a fire whose heat is intense and whose torment is severe — the verse emphasizes two crucial realities about their condition within it.
First, they will remain in that fire forever, with no hope of release, no end to their suffering, and no respite from its agony. The word *abadā* (eternally) removes any illusion that this punishment might be temporary or that a way out might eventually appear.
Second, in that dire state, they will search for anyone to turn to — but they will find no wali (no protector, no guardian, no friend who can shield them or speak up for them) and no naṣīr (no helper, no supporter who can defend them or pull them out of the flames). Every door of rescue will be sealed shut. No relative, no powerful being, no false deity they once worshipped will be able to benefit them in the slightest.
This verse serves as a profound warning to every soul: the choices we make in this world determine our destination in the next. Those who reject Allah's guidance and oppose His messengers will find themselves utterly alone in the Hereafter — abandoned by everyone they relied upon, with no intercessor and no escape.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart. Allah, in His infinite mercy, has not left us without guidance — He sent His messengers, revealed His books, and made the path to Paradise clear. The door of repentance is open right now, in this very moment. Do not wait until that Day when no protector or helper will avail you. Turn to Allah today, submit to Him, and follow the example of His beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For those who do, Allah has promised gardens beneath which rivers flow, where they will dwell forever in bliss — never to be abandoned, never to be left without a Guardian and Helper. Choose now, while the choice is still yours.
