Surah Yasin — Verse 77

This verse addresses a profound human reality: the person who denies the Resurrection and the Hereafter, yet fails to reflect on his own origin. Allah poses a rhetorical question — "Does not man see that We created him from a drop of fluid?" — inviting him to look at the very beginning of his existence.

Think about it: a human being starts as a tiny, insignificant drop of fluid. Through Allah's perfect power and wisdom, that drop passes through stages of development — clinging clot, chewed-like lump, bones, then flesh — until it emerges as a fully formed child, grows into adulthood, and eventually becomes a person who argues, debates, and disputes with confidence and eloquence. This very being who now stands proudly, raising objections against the idea of resurrection, was once nothing but a weak, humble drop.

The verse points out the stark contrast: from such a humble beginning, this person has become a "clear adversary" — someone who argues boldly, even against his own Creator. If Allah was able to create him from nothing, why would He not be able to recreate him after death? The very logic of his existence proves the possibility — indeed, the certainty — of the Resurrection.

This is an invitation to reflect: the One who originated creation can surely repeat it. The power that brought you into being from a mere drop is not diminished when it comes to bringing you back to life after your bones have decayed. So let this reflection soften your heart, dear reader. Your existence is not a random accident — it is a sign from your Lord, calling you to believe in Him, to prepare for the Day when you will stand before Him, and to live a life that pleases Him.

O human being! Look at yourself — your eyes, your hands, your heart that beats without your command. Every breath you take is a miracle. If you truly ponder your own creation, you will find in it the clearest evidence of Allah's power and the truth of the Hereafter. Do not let your arguments lead you away from the truth. Instead, let your very existence lead you to your Creator, and let the hope of His mercy and the fear of His justice guide you to righteousness. For the same Lord who shaped you from a drop will one day raise you again — and on that Day, every argument will fall silent, and only your deeds will speak.
