Word Meanings:

  • Ṭarīq (طَرِيقَ): Path or way.
  • Jahannam (جَهَنَّمَ): Hellfire, the abode of punishment in the Hereafter.
  • Khālidīn (خَالِدِينَ): Remaining forever, eternally.
  • Abadan (أَبَدًا): For all eternity, without end.
  • Yasīran (يَسِيرًا): Easy, effortless, not difficult.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse concludes the description of those who disbelieve and persist in their rejection of the truth after clear proofs have come to them. Allah Almighty states that such people have no path open to them except the road that leads straight to Hellfire — the path of disbelief and misguidance. They will remain therein forever, never leaving, never finding relief, and never tasting death to escape their torment.

The verse emphasizes that this punishment is not a matter of chance or weakness on Allah’s part. Rather, it is easy for Him — He simply wills it, and it comes to pass. Nothing in the heavens or the earth can hinder His decree, and no power can resist His justice. This serves as a profound reminder that Allah’s judgment is absolute, and His ability to carry out His promise — whether of reward or punishment — is beyond any doubt.

For the believers, this verse carries a dual message. First, it instills a healthy fear of the consequences of rejecting faith, urging them to hold firmly to the straight path and never waver in their obedience to Allah. Second, it fills their hearts with gratitude and hope, knowing that the same ease with which Allah punishes the wrongdoers is the ease with which He rewards the righteous — His mercy is vast, His generosity is boundless, and His promise of Paradise for the believers is equally certain.

So let this verse be a call to every soul: do not let arrogance or worldly desires lead you down the path of ruin. Turn to your Lord in sincerity, embrace His guidance, and you will find that the road to eternal bliss is open before you — a road that Allah has made easy for those who seek Him with a pure heart.

📜 Verse 167-171 — An-Nisa

Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah have certainly gone far astray.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.
Except the path of Hell; they will abide therein forever. And that, for Allah, is [always] easy.
O Mankind, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; it is better for you. But if you disbelieve - then indeed, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. And ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
