  • "Imaman" (إِمَامًا): A leader, guide, and model to be followed.
  • "Musaddiq" (مُصَدِّقٌ): Confirming and affirming the truth of what came before it.
  • "Lisanan 'Arabiyyan" (لِسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا): In the clear and eloquent Arabic language.

Explanation of the Verse:

Before this Qur'an, Allah had sent down the Book of Moses — the Torah — as a guiding light and a mercy. It served as a leader and a model for the Children of Israel, showing them the path of truth and righteousness, and it was a mercy for those who believed in it and acted upon its teachings. Now, this Qur'an, revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), comes as a confirmation of all the previous divine scriptures, affirming their core truths and completing the message. It was revealed in the pure Arabic tongue, clear and eloquent, so that it could reach the hearts of its first audience and all humanity thereafter.

This Qur'an has a dual purpose. First, it is a warning to those who have wronged themselves — those who have fallen into disbelief, polytheism, and disobedience to their Lord. It awakens them from their heedlessness, calls them to account, and shows them the consequences of their actions, so they may turn back before it is too late. Second, it is a glad tiding of immense joy and reward for the doers of good — those who perfect their relationship with their Creator through sincere faith and worship, and their relationship with His creation through kindness, justice, and excellence in all their dealings. For them, this Book brings the promise of Paradise and the pleasure of Allah.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder the beauty of this divine sequence: the Torah was a mercy for its time, and the Qur'an is the final, universal mercy that confirms and completes the truth. Allah has sent this Book in a language that speaks to the heart, with warnings that protect you from harm and glad tidings that fill your soul with hope. Do not let this opportunity pass you by. Open the Qur'an, reflect on its verses, and let it guide you to the straight path. For those who wrong themselves, it is a wake-up call — a chance to repent and return to their Lord. And for those who strive in goodness, it is a promise of a reward beyond imagination. Embrace this Book, live by it, and you will find in it the key to success in this life and the next.

📜 Verse 10-14 — Al-Ahqaf

Say, "Have you considered: if the Qur'an was from Allah, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant...?" Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.
