Explanation of the Verse:
This verse continues the description of the disbelievers' fate, stating that the ruin and misguidance they face are the direct consequence of their own attitude and choices. The reason is clear: they hated what Allah revealed — the Qur'an with its call to pure monotheism, its divine laws, and its guidance for humanity. Their hearts were filled with aversion and resentment toward the truth, not because of any flaw in it, but because it challenged their desires, pride, and worldly interests.
Because of this deep-seated hatred and rejection, Allah nullified their deeds. All their efforts — whether charitable acts, good works, or sacrifices — became worthless in the sight of Allah, for they were built on a foundation of disbelief and rebellion. Their deeds were not performed out of sincere faith in Allah or love for His message, but rather in obedience to Satan and their own whims. As a result, they lost everything: their good deeds were wiped out, and they suffered loss both in this world and in the Hereafter.
This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: the value of our deeds is not measured by their outward appearance, but by the state of our hearts and our relationship with Allah's revelation. When a person embraces the Qur'an with love, humility, and submission, their deeds are elevated and accepted. But when one turns away from it with hatred and arrogance, even the most impressive deeds become dust scattered in the wind.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart to the immense blessing of loving Allah's revelation. The Qur'an is not a burden — it is a light, a mercy, and a guide to every good in this life and the next. When you open your heart to it, Allah opens for you the doors of success and makes your efforts fruitful. But beware of letting pride, habit, or worldly distractions plant seeds of aversion toward it in your heart. Love the Qur'an, recite it, ponder its meanings, and live by its teachings — and you will find that Allah multiplies your deeds, elevates your rank, and grants you success beyond your imagination. This is the path of the true believers, and it is the path to eternal happiness.
