Word Meanings:

  • Shurakaa (شُرَكَاءَ): Partners or associates.
  • Al-Jinn (الْجِنَّ): The unseen creation, including the devils and spirits that the polytheists worshipped or sought intercession from.
  • Kharaqoo (خَرَقُوا): They fabricated, invented, or falsely claimed — derived from the idea of cutting something out of nothing, i.e., sheer falsehood.
  • Subhanahu (سُبْحَانَهُ): Glory be to Him — declaring His absolute perfection and freedom from any deficiency or imperfection.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse exposes the depth of human ignorance and arrogance when it comes to the Creator of the heavens and the earth. The polytheists of Makkah and other nations did something utterly illogical: they took the *jinn* — beings that Allah Himself created from smokeless fire — and made them partners with Allah in worship. They believed these unseen creatures could bring benefit or harm, so they offered them sacrifices, sought their help, and even claimed they were Allah’s relatives or associates. Yet, it is Allah who brought them into existence from nothing. He alone gives life and death, sustains all creation, and controls every affair. So how could a created being share in the divinity of its own Creator? This is the height of contradiction and foolishness.

Then the verse goes further, exposing another lie: they attributed children to Allah — sons and daughters — without any knowledge or proof. Some claimed the angels were Allah’s daughters (as the pagan Arabs did), others claimed that Ezra was His son (as some Jews claimed), and others claimed that Jesus, peace be upon him, was His son (as the Christians claim). All of these are baseless fabrications, invented by people who did not know their Lord. If they truly understood His perfection, they would realize that He is completely self-sufficient, needing no offspring, no partner, and no helper. He is One, Eternal, and Absolutely Independent.

So Allah declares His own perfection and transcendence: *"Glory be to Him and High is He above what they describe."* He is far above every false attribute, every invented partner, and every imagined child. He is the Creator of all things, and all things are His servants. Nothing resembles Him, and nothing shares His essence or His rights.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this magnificent truth. The One who created the jinn, the angels, the heavens, the earth, and every living being — does He need a partner? Does He need a son or a daughter? Absolutely not! He is Al-Ghaniyy (The Self-Sufficient), the One who has no needs, while all of creation is in absolute need of Him.

This verse invites you to purify your heart from every false belief and to direct your worship to Allah alone. When you say *"La ilaha illa Allah"* — there is no god but Allah — you are declaring that no created being, no matter how powerful or beautiful, deserves even a fraction of your devotion. The jinn, the angels, the prophets, the saints — all are servants of Allah, and none of them claimed divinity or partnership with Him.

So let this verse be a reminder for you to check your own beliefs. Do you rely on Allah alone, or have you unconsciously attached your heart to other "partners" — whether they be people, wealth, status, or superstitions? True success lies in freeing yourself from all false associations and submitting wholeheartedly to the One who created you, sustains you, and will judge you on the Day you meet Him.

Glory be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, far above everything that the false describers claim. And peace and blessings be upon His final messenger, Muhammad, who came to call humanity back to this pure and simple truth: worship Allah alone, and you will find peace in this life and the next.

📜 Verse 98-102 — Al-An'am

And it is He who produced you from one soul and [gave you] a place of dwelling and of storage. We have detailed the signs for a people who understand.
And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things. We produce from it greenery from which We produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low. And [We produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
But they have attributed to Allah partners - the jinn, while He has created them - and have fabricated for Him sons and daughters. Exalted is He and high above what they describe
[He is] Originator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when He does not have a companion and He created all things? And He is, of all things, Knowing.
That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things.
