Surah Al-Mursalat — Verse 38

• Al-Faṣl (الفصل): The decisive separation and judgment between truth and falsehood, and between the righteous and the wicked.
• Al-Awwalīn (الأولين): The earlier nations and peoples who came before you and likewise rejected the truth.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On the Day of Judgment, it will be proclaimed: "This is the Day of Decision" — the day when Allah, the All-Wise, settles all disputes and distinguishes clearly between right and wrong, between the believers and the disbelievers. On that day, every soul will be recompensed exactly for what it earned in this worldly life, with absolute justice and no oppression whatsoever.

Then Allah addresses the disbelievers of this Ummah, saying: "We have gathered you together with the earlier nations who also denied the messengers and rejected the truth." All of humanity — from the first to the last — will be assembled in one plain, before their Lord, with no exception and no escape. The tyrants of old and the deniers of later times will stand side by side, equal in their helplessness, awaiting the decree of the Most Just.

This verse carries a profound warning: no one can hide from Allah, and no power, wealth, or status from this world will avail anyone on that Day. The call is clear — if you imagine you have any plan or stratagem to save yourselves from Allah's punishment, then try it now! But the reality is that no such escape exists, for Allah's might and vengeance are absolute.

The Day of Decision is certain to come, and the wise person is the one who prepares for it while there is still time. Do not wait until you are gathered with those who denied the truth, for on that Day, regret will be of no benefit. Embrace the path of guidance today, and let this verse be a turning point in your life — a moment where you choose to be among those who will hear the joyful call of Paradise rather than the stern rebuke of that Day. The door of repentance is open, and Allah's mercy is vast. Come back to Him, and you will find Him the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
