Word Meanings:

  • Yakeedoona (يَكِيدُونَ): They plot, scheme, or devise cunning plans secretly.
  • Kaydan (كَيْدًا): A scheme, stratagem, or deceptive maneuver intended to harm or undermine.

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse refers to those who reject the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Qur'an. They are actively plotting and devising cunning schemes to extinguish the light of truth and to uphold falsehood. Their plots are many and relentless—they conspire in secret, spread doubts, and use every means at their disposal to oppose the divine message and weaken the call to Islam.

Yet, in this very verse lies a profound reassurance for the believer: their scheming, no matter how elaborate, is met with Allah's own counter-scheme. While they plot to defeat the truth, Allah—in His infinite wisdom and power—plots to make the truth prevail and to bring their plans to nothing. Their cunning is finite, human, and weak; Allah's plan is absolute, divine, and unstoppable.

So do not be distressed, O believer, by the conspiracies of the disbelievers. Do not rush or despair when you see their apparent strength or their persistent hostility. Their schemes are but a fleeting shadow before the sun of Allah's decree. He grants them respite, not because He is heedless, but because His justice is perfect and His timing is precise. When the appointed moment arrives, their plots will collapse, and they will face humiliation, punishment, and ruin—while the truth will stand firm, honored and victorious.

This verse is a call to place your trust entirely in Allah. The enemies of truth may weave their webs, but the Weaver of all destinies is above them all. Their kheda (scheming) is like a spider's web—fragile, deceptive, and doomed to be swept away. So hold firm to your faith, remain patient, and know with certainty that the final victory belongs to the righteous, no matter how long the night of trial may seem.

📜 Verse 13-17 — At-Tariq

13إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,
14وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
And it is not amusement.
15إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
Indeed, they are planning a plan,
16وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
But I am planning a plan.
17فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا
So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
