Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger, respond to those who claim that this Qur'an is your own invention or the work of human hands: No, it is not from you, nor is it from any created being. Rather, it was sent down by the Holy Spirit — the trusted Angel Jibreel, peace be upon him — from your Lord, the Lord of all the worlds. He brought it with the absolute truth, containing nothing but what is right and just, with no falsehood in its news and no injustice in its commands.
Why was this Qur'an revealed? It was sent down for three great purposes:
First, to make firm the hearts of the believers — so that whenever a new revelation came, their faith would grow stronger, their certainty would deepen, and they would remain steadfast upon the truth even as circumstances changed and some rulings were abrogated. Each verse was a pillar of support for their souls.
Second, as guidance (hudan) — a radiant path that leads humanity out of the darkness of ignorance, polytheism, and sin, into the light of knowledge, monotheism, and righteousness. It is a living guide for every generation until the end of time.
Third, as glad tidings (bushra) for the Muslims — those who submit their wills to Allah and surrender their hearts to His command. For them, this Qur'an carries the joyful news of Allah's pleasure, His forgiveness, and the eternal bliss of Paradise. It reassures them that their efforts are not in vain and that their ultimate success is guaranteed by the One who never breaks His promise.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, ponder the beauty of this verse: the Creator of the heavens and the earth did not leave you without a message. He sent His most honored angel with His most sacred book to the most beloved of His creation — all for your sake, so that your heart may find stability, your mind may find guidance, and your soul may find glad tidings. This Qur'an is not a burden; it is a mercy. Open its pages with a sincere heart, and you will find that it speaks directly to your worries, your hopes, and your deepest needs. Let it be your companion, and you will never feel alone. Let it be your guide, and you will never lose your way. This is the promise of your Lord — and His promise is always true.
