Tafsir (Explanation):

In this verse, we witness a powerful moment of sincere advice and admonition. The believing companion, while engaged in a heated conversation with his wealthy, arrogant friend who had just boasted about his wealth, children, and status, turns to him with a question that strikes at the very heart of faith: "Have you disbelieved in the One who created you from dust, then from a drop of fluid, then fashioned you into a complete man?"

The believer is not merely arguing — he is reminding his friend of the undeniable reality of his own origin. He points out that this man, who now walks proudly on the earth boasting of his possessions, was once nothing. His first origin was dust — the humble, lifeless material from which Allah created Adam, the father of all humanity. Then, through the divine decree, he was formed from a mere drop of fluid — a substance so insignificant that it is often overlooked and despised. Yet from this tiny beginning, Allah shaped him into a full-grown man with balanced limbs, a functioning mind, and a dignified form.

The believer's question is rhetorical and profound: If Allah was able to create you from nothing — from dust and a drop — then how can you deny His power to bring you back to life after death? The One who began creation is certainly capable of repeating it. This is the core message of the verse: the power that initiated your existence is the same power that will resurrect you for the Day of Judgment.

This verse carries a timeless lesson for every human being. When we feel proud of our wealth, our status, or our achievements, we must remember our humble beginnings. We were created from dust and a drop — we have no reason for arrogance. And when we doubt the Hereafter, we should reflect on our own creation: the One who made us from nothing can surely bring us back again.
