Surah Al-Anbiya — Verse 83

Tafsir (Explanation):

In this verse, Allah commands His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) — and through him, all believers — to remember the story of His devoted servant Ayyub (Job), peace be upon him. When Ayyub was tested with a severe trial that struck his body with painful illness, and he lost his wealth, his children, and was left in a state of utter hardship, he did not despair or turn away from his Lord. Instead, he called upon Allah with a humble and beautiful supplication, saying: *"Indeed, harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."*

This brief yet profound prayer reveals the depth of Ayyub's faith. He did not complain to people, nor did he question Allah's decree. Rather, he turned directly to his Creator, acknowledging his own weakness and Allah's infinite mercy. His words were not a rejection of divine will but a sincere plea for relief, rooted in the certainty that Allah alone can remove harm and that His mercy encompasses everything.

The verse highlights that even in the darkest moments of trial, a believer's connection to Allah remains their greatest source of strength. Like Ayyub, you do not need eloquent words or lengthy prayers; a sincere cry from the depths of your soul, acknowledging your need for Him, is enough. The same Lord who answered Ayyub's call and transformed his affliction into mercy is alive, listening, and ever-responsive. Let your trials draw you nearer to Him, for in His mercy lies the ultimate cure for every pain, and in His love lies the peace that surpasses all understanding.
