Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Āyah (آيَةً): A clear sign, evidence, or proof that points to the truth.
- Mu'minīn (مُؤْمِنِينَ): Believers — those who accept the truth with sincere faith and act upon it.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this verse, Allah draws our attention to a profound and visible reality: the earth that produces vegetation of every kind — beneficial, nourishing, and diverse. Who but the Lord of all worlds could bring forth such life from dry, lifeless soil? This is not a random occurrence; it is a deliberate and continuous miracle that unfolds before our eyes every single day.
The sign here is twofold: it demonstrates Allah's perfect power in creation, and it serves as a living proof that He who brings life to the dead earth is fully capable of bringing the dead back to life on the Day of Resurrection. The same power that splits the seed and causes it to sprout, that sends down rain and revives barren land — that same power will resurrect all of humanity for the final account.
Yet, despite this clear and undeniable evidence, most people still do not believe. Their hearts remain hardened, and their eyes remain blind to the signs that surround them. This is not because the proof is lacking, but because they choose to turn away. Allah's knowledge has already encompassed them — He knows that the majority will persist in disbelief, and His wisdom in this is perfect.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, pause for a moment and look at the world around you. The food you eat, the fruits you enjoy, the green fields and towering trees — all of these are messages from your Creator, calling you to recognize His greatness and to submit to Him. Every leaf that falls, every flower that blooms, every drop of rain is a sign pointing to the One who created all things with wisdom and mercy.
Do not be among those who see but do not reflect, who hear but do not listen. Open your heart to the truth, for the signs are everywhere — in the earth beneath your feet and in the heavens above you. Allah, the Almighty, the Most Merciful, has not left you without guidance. He has shown you His power through His creation, and He has sent His messengers with clear proofs. The choice is yours: will you be among the believers who recognize the signs and respond with faith, or among those who turn away despite all the evidence?
Let this verse be a reminder that faith is not blind — it is built upon the countless signs that Allah has placed in His creation. And He, in His infinite mercy, continues to call you toward Him, waiting for you to respond.
