Surah Yasin — Verse 23

He asks rhetorically: "Should I take, besides Allah, other gods?" — meaning, how could I possibly worship idols or false deities when they possess no power whatsoever?

If the Most Merciful — the One who created me, sustains me, and controls my every affair — were to will any harm or hardship upon me, these so-called gods could not intercede for me, nor could they rescue me from even the slightest misfortune. They cannot push back His decree, nor can they shield me from His will. Their intercession is utterly worthless, for they are mere creations — powerless, deaf, and blind.
