Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Qāṣirāt-u ṭ-Ṭarf (قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ): Women who restrain their gaze, confining their looks only to their husbands, not casting eyes upon anyone else.
- ʿĪn (عِين): Women with wide, beautiful, intensely black-and-white eyes — a mark of exquisite beauty in Arabic description.
Tafsir (Explanation):
In the blessed company of the righteous in Paradise, Allah has prepared for them pure and chaste spouses — maidens of Paradise who keep their gaze lowered and restricted solely to their husbands. Their eyes are wide and strikingly beautiful, captivating in their perfection. These women do not look at anyone other than their husbands, not because of any restriction, but because their husbands are so extraordinarily handsome and perfect in their sight that they find complete contentment and satisfaction in them alone. Their beauty is described as being like protected pearls or hidden eggs, untouched and pristine — a vivid image of purity, radiance, and flawless charm. This verse paints a scene of intimate joy and mutual devotion, where no jealousy, distraction, or wandering glance can ever disturb the peace of the believers' hearts.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Imagine a life where your heart is completely at rest — where the one beside you is not only the most beautiful to your eyes but also utterly devoted to you, with no wandering thoughts, no divided attention, and no cause for insecurity. This is the promise of Allah to those who strive in this world to guard their own eyes and hearts from what is forbidden. The Qur'an teaches us that Paradise is not merely about physical pleasures; it is about the perfection of relationships, the purity of love, and the absolute serenity of the soul. When you lower your gaze in this world for the sake of Allah, He rewards you with a companion whose gaze is lowered for you alone in the Hereafter. What a beautiful exchange — a temporary restraint now for an eternal, untainted joy later. Let this verse inspire you to purify your heart and actions, knowing that every act of self-control in obedience to Allah is a seed planted for a harvest of everlasting happiness.
