Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Bashar (بشرًا): A human being, specifically referring to Prophet Adam (peace be upon him).
  • Teen (طين): Clay or mud, the primordial substance from which Allah created the first human.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O Messenger, remind the people of the moment when your Lord declared to the angels: "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay." This refers to the creation of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him), the father of all mankind. Allah informed the angels of His divine will before bringing Adam into existence, demonstrating His absolute power and wisdom in creation.

This verse serves as a profound reminder of humanity's noble origin and purpose. Allah, the Exalted, chose to create us from the earth, yet honored us with His divine breath and elevated us above many of His creations. When you reflect on this, dear reader, you realize that your existence is not a random accident—it is a deliberate act of the Most Merciful, who shaped you with His own hands and blew into you from His spirit.

The story that follows in this chapter reveals the great test of obedience and humility that the angels faced, and the tragic arrogance of Iblis (Satan) who refused to bow to Adam out of pride. This narrative carries timeless lessons for every believer: the danger of arrogance, the virtue of humility, and the importance of submitting to Allah's command without question.

Let this verse inspire you to appreciate the honor Allah has bestowed upon you as a human being. You were created with purpose, dignity, and potential. Your Lord knew you before you existed, shaped you with perfection, and guided you to the light of Islam. So walk through life with gratitude, humility, and obedience to your Creator, for He is the One who brought you from clay to consciousness, from nothingness to nobility.

And remember, dear believer—when Allah commands, the only response worthy of a servant is submission. The angels understood this and obeyed. Let your heart be like theirs: pure, obedient, and filled with love for the One who created you from clay and honored you with faith.

📜 Verse 69-73 — Sad

I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam].
It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner."
[So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay.
So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely.
