(Da'b): Habit, custom, or continuous practice; also refers to the state or condition of a people.
(People of Nuh): The nation of Prophet Noah (peace be upon him).
(Aad): The ancient tribe of 'Ad, who were destroyed for their arrogance and disbelief.

(Dhulman): Injustice or wrongdoing.

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the universal law of Allah—a law that has never changed and will never change. The fate of the disbelievers mentioned here is not a new or isolated event; rather, it is a continuation of a pattern that has repeated itself throughout history. Just as the people of Nuh (Noah) were drowned in the flood for their persistent rejection of the truth, and just as the tribes of 'Aad and Thamud were destroyed by a furious wind and a mighty blast respectively for their arrogance and denial of their prophets, so too were the nations that came after them—those who followed the same path of stubbornness and disbelief—met with a similar end.

The verse draws our attention to the fact that these punishments were not arbitrary or unjust. Allah, in His infinite wisdom and justice, does not wrong His servants in the slightest. He does not destroy a people without first sending them clear messengers, clear signs, and ample time to reflect and repent. When destruction comes, it is only after the evidence has been established against them and they have chosen, with their own free will, to persist in their transgression. Their punishment is a direct consequence of their own deeds—a fitting recompense for their rejection of the truth.

This is a profound lesson for humanity: Allah's justice is perfect. He is not quick to punish, nor does He delight in destruction. Rather, He gives respite, sends guidance, and opens the doors of repentance. But when a people insist on crossing every boundary and rejecting every sign, His justice demands that they face the consequences of their choices. So let this be a call to every soul—to reflect on the fate of those who came before, to learn from their mistakes, and to turn back to Allah before it is too late. For Allah's mercy is vast, and His door of forgiveness remains open to all who sincerely seek it. But His justice is also certain, and no one can escape it. Choose the path of faith and righteousness, and you will find a Lord who is ever-merciful, ever-just, and ever-protective of His servants.

📜 Verse 29-33 — Ghafir

O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allah if it came to us?" Pharaoh said, "I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the way of right conduct."
And he who believed said, "O my people, indeed I fear for you [a fate] like the day of the companies -
Like the custom of the people of Noah and of 'Aad and Thamud and those after them. And Allah wants no injustice for [His] servants.
And O my people, indeed I fear for you the Day of Calling -
The Day you will turn your backs fleeing; there is not for you from Allah any protector. And whoever Allah leaves astray - there is not for him any guide.
