Surah Ash-Shura — Verse 3

• كَذَٰلِكَ (Kathalika): In this manner, just as (referring to the revelation of this Quran).
• يُوحِي (Yūḥī): He reveals/inspires — sending down divine revelation.
• الْعَزِيزُ (Al-ʿAzīz): The All-Mighty — the One who prevails over all things and is invincible in His power.
• الْحَكِيمُ (Al-Ḥakīm): The All-Wise — the One who is perfect in His sayings, actions, and decree.

Explanation of the Verse:

Just as Allah, the Exalted, reveals to you, O Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), this magnificent Quran — with its profound meanings, clear proofs, and guiding light — in the very same manner He sent down His revelation to the prophets and messengers who came before you. This is not a new or unprecedented matter; rather, it is the established and continuous way of Allah with His chosen servants throughout history. He sent down the Torah to Moses, the Gospel to Jesus, the Psalms to David, and the scriptures to Abraham — all from the same source, with the same divine origin, and for the same noble purpose: to guide humanity to the truth and to the straight path.

And the One who does this is Allah, the All-Mighty (Al-ʿAzīz) — whose might no one can overpower, whose decree no one can repel, and whose vengeance against His enemies is severe and certain. He is also the All-Wise (Al-Ḥakīm) — who places everything in its proper place, who sends down revelation according to perfect wisdom, and whose words and actions are all filled with profound purpose and benefit for His creation.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this beautiful verse! The same Allah who revealed the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the One who revealed the divine books to all the prophets before him. This is a testament to the unity of the divine message — one God, one religion of submission (Islam), and one continuous chain of guidance from Adam to Muhammad (peace be upon them all).

This verse fills the heart with tranquility and certainty. It tells you that your faith is not built on a novel claim, but on a solid foundation that has been established since the beginning of time. The Quran is not the word of a human being, nor a fabrication of a madman — it is the revelation of the All-Mighty, the All-Wise, who knows what is best for His servants.

So, dear reader, open your heart to this divine message. Let the Quran be your guide, just as it was the guide for those who came before you. For in it is your success in this life and your salvation in the Hereafter. And know that the One who revealed it is the Mighty who protects His religion and the Wise who guides whom He wills to the straight path.
