Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Habā’ (هَبَاءً): Fine dust or particles so tiny that they float in the air, like the specks seen in a sunbeam.
  • Munbathth (مُنبَثًّا): Scattered, dispersed, or spread out in all directions, with no cohesion or stability.

Tafsir (Explanation):

When the earth is shaken with a violent, tremendous convulsion, and the mountains are crushed into the finest particles — utterly pulverized beyond recognition — they will become like scattered dust, dispersed and drifting in the atmosphere, blown away by the winds. Nothing will remain of their former solidity, grandeur, or weight. They will be as insubstantial as the tiny motes that dance in a beam of sunlight, having no firmness, no permanence, and no power to stand. This is the fate of the mightiest structures of this world when the command of Allah comes to pass — a vivid reminder that all worldly strength and stability are fleeting, and only Allah’s decree endures.

Da’wah Reflection:

O servant of Allah, look at the mountains around you — vast, immovable, and awe-inspiring. Yet on the Day of Resurrection, they will be reduced to nothing more than scattered dust, blown away like a whisper in the wind. If the mightiest of Allah’s creations cannot withstand His power, then how can we, in our weakness, afford to be heedless of His commands? This verse calls us to humility: no matter how strong, wealthy, or secure we feel in this life, everything will crumble before the Majesty of Allah. Let this truth soften your heart, draw you closer to your Creator, and inspire you to build your life upon what truly lasts — faith, good deeds, and sincere devotion to Allah. For on that Day, only those who took refuge in His mercy will find stability, while all else turns to scattered dust.

📜 Verse 4-8 — Al-Waqi'ah

When the earth is shaken with convulsion
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
And become dust dispersing.
And you become [of] three kinds:
8فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
