- مُبْصِرُونَ (Mubsirun): Those who see clearly, with insight and perception, having regained spiritual vision after a moment of blindness.
Explanation of the Verse:
This noble verse paints a beautiful and reassuring picture of the believers who possess true God-consciousness (taqwa). Allah describes them as people who, despite their piety, may occasionally be touched by a whisper or insinuation from Satan—for no human is entirely immune to such fleeting suggestions. However, the distinguishing mark of the righteous is not that they never stumble, but that they respond to such moments with immediate remembrance of Allah.
When a passing thought of sin or disobedience grazes their hearts, they do not dwell on it or follow it. Instead, they recall Allah's greatness, His watchful eye over them, His severe punishment for the disobedient, and His immense reward for the obedient. This remembrance acts like a sudden light piercing through darkness—they instantly see the error of their ways, recognize the trap that Satan had laid for them, and pull themselves back to the straight path. They turn to Allah in repentance, seek His forgiveness, and renew their commitment to His commands.
The phrase "فَإِذَا هُم مُبْصِرُونَ" (and behold, they are seeing clearly) is a beautiful depiction of the immediate transformation that occurs. It is as if the moment of forgetfulness was a temporary veil, and the moment of remembrance lifts that veil entirely, restoring their spiritual vision. They now see the truth clearly—the ugliness of sin, the beauty of obedience, and the reality of their accountability before Allah.
A Da'wah Reflection:
This verse carries a profound and comforting message for every believer. It tells us that the path of righteousness does not require perfection, but rather awareness and swift return to Allah. Satan's whispers are a test, but the believer's weapon is remembrance (dhikr). When you find yourself slipping, do not despair—for despair itself is another of Satan's traps. Instead, remember Allah immediately, seek His forgiveness, and you will find that the darkness lifts, and your heart regains its clarity.
This is the beauty of Islam: it does not demand that you never fall, but that you rise every time you fall. The door of repentance is always open, and Allah's mercy is vaster than your sins. So, whenever you feel the touch of Satan, let it be a reminder to strengthen your connection with Allah, and you will find yourself among those who see with the light of faith.
