Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Lasālū (لَصَالُو): Those who will enter and experience the heat of the Fire directly, with no barrier or protection.
- Al-Jaheem (الْجَحِيم): The blazing, fiercely burning Fire of Hell, one of its most intense levels.
Tafsir (Explanation):
After the disbelievers are denied the vision of their Lord—a blessing reserved exclusively for the believers in Paradise—their fate takes a further, terrifying turn. The verse declares that they will most certainly enter the blazing Fire and directly suffer its scorching heat, with nothing to shield them from it. This is not a mere threat; it is an emphatic, confirmed reality that follows their rejection of the Day of Recompense. Their sins had veiled their hearts from the truth in this world, and now, in the Hereafter, they are veiled from their Lord’s mercy and cast into the flames they once mocked.
This sequence—first being deprived of the greatest honor (seeing Allah), then being plunged into the worst punishment—shows the complete reversal of their state. In the worldly life, they felt powerful and self-sufficient, denying the truth and ridiculing the believers. But on that Day, their arrogance will be crushed, and their punishment will be both physical and spiritual: the Fire burns their bodies, while the loss of Allah’s sight burns their souls even more profoundly.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, this verse is not meant to frighten you into despair, but to awaken your heart before it is too late. Allah, in His infinite mercy, has sent you this warning so that you may turn back to Him while the door of repentance is still open. The very fact that you are reading these words is a sign of His care for you—He wants you to succeed, not to fail. Imagine the contrast: the believers will be honored with the vision of their Lord, a joy beyond any description, while the disbelievers will be veiled from Him and thrown into the Fire. Which of these two destinies do you choose? The choice is yours, right now, in this very moment. Do not let your sins harden your heart as they did for those who denied the truth. Turn to Allah, seek His forgiveness, and strive to live by His guidance. The gates of His mercy are wide open, and He loves nothing more than a servant who returns to Him with a sincere heart. Let this verse be the turning point in your life—a moment when you decide that the Fire is not your destination, and that the vision of your Lord is what you truly long for.
