Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Nādiyah (نَادِيَهُ): His assembly, clan, or the people of his gathering—those he calls upon for support and protection.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse is a direct challenge and a stern warning to the arrogant tyrant who opposed the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and tried to prevent him from praying. After declaring that such a transgressor will be seized by the forelock and dragged to punishment, Allah says: *"Then let him call his assembly"*—meaning, let him summon his clan, his supporters, and all those he relies upon for strength and protection. Let him gather every ally he thinks can save him. This is said in a tone of decisive challenge and utter contempt for his power. The message is clear: no matter how many people he brings, no matter how strong his tribe or his council, none of them will avail him against the decree of Allah. The angels of punishment are more than sufficient to deal with him. This verse exposes the illusion of worldly power and social standing when set against the might of the Creator. It teaches us that true honor and protection come only from Allah, and that those who rely on their clans, wealth, or status will find all of that utterly useless on the Day when the truth prevails. For the believer, this is a profound lesson in reliance upon Allah alone—no supporter, no group, and no worldly force can ever overcome the will of Allah. And for the one who oppresses and rejects the truth, this is a reminder that their support networks are nothing but a mirage before the overwhelming power of their Lord.
