اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ ۝١
📖 Translation Verse 1
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ ۝٢
📖 Translation Verse 2
Created man from a clinging substance.
اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ ۝٣
📖 Translation Verse 3
Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -
الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ ۝٤
📖 Translation Verse 4
Who taught by the pen -
عَلَّمَ الْإِنسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ۝٥
📖 Translation Verse 5
Taught man that which he knew not.
كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ ۝٦
📖 Translation Verse 6
No! [But] indeed, man transgresses
أَن رَّآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ ۝٧
📖 Translation Verse 7
Because he sees himself self-sufficient.
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ ۝٨
📖 Translation Verse 8
Indeed, to your Lord is the return.
أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ ۝٩
📖 Translation Verse 9
Have you seen the one who forbids
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ ۝١٠
📖 Translation Verse 10
A servant when he prays?
أَرَأَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ ۝١١
📖 Translation Verse 11
Have you seen if he is upon guidance
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ ۝١٢
📖 Translation Verse 12
Or enjoins righteousness?
أَرَأَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ۝١٣
📖 Translation Verse 13
Have you seen if he denies and turns away -
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ ۝١٤
📖 Translation Verse 14
Does he not know that Allah sees?
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ ۝١٥
📖 Translation Verse 15
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -
نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ۝١٦
📖 Translation Verse 16
A lying, sinning forelock.
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ ۝١٧
📖 Translation Verse 17
Then let him call his associates;
سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ ۝١٨
📖 Translation Verse 18
We will call the angels of Hell.
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِب ۩ ۝١٩
📖 Translation Verse 19
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah].
