Explanation of the Verse:
When the long-awaited carrier of good news finally arrived — the one who would tell Ya'qub (Jacob) that his beloved son Yusuf was alive — he cast the shirt of Yusuf upon Ya'qub's face. By the will and mercy of Allah, his sight, which had been lost through the intense grief and weeping over his son, was instantly restored. He could see again, and his heart was flooded with overwhelming joy.
At that moment, Ya'qub turned to those around him — his sons and family — and said with gentle affirmation: "Did I not tell you before that I know from Allah what you do not know?" He had never lost hope in Allah's mercy, nor doubted His promise. He knew, through his deep faith and unwavering trust, that Allah would reunite him with Yusuf, even when circumstances seemed impossible and years had passed without any sign.
This verse teaches us a profound lesson: the believer's trust in Allah must never waver, no matter how dark the night of trials may seem. Ya'qub's patience was rewarded with a miracle — the restoration of his sight and the reunion with his son. His words echo through time as a reminder that Allah's knowledge and mercy far exceed our limited understanding. When we place our complete reliance on Him, He opens doors we never imagined and brings relief from directions we never expected.
Dear reader, let this story inspire you. Your trials, however heavy, are not beyond Allah's power to remove. Hold firmly to hope in His mercy, for He is Al-Lateef (The Most Subtle and Kind) and Al-Kareem (The Most Generous). Just as Ya'qub's patience was crowned with victory, so too will your steadfastness be rewarded — if only you trust in Allah as he did.
