- Zayyannāhā (زَيَّنَّاهَا): We adorned it, meaning We beautified the sky with stars as a decoration.

Explanation of the Verse:
Allah, the Exalted, opens this verse with an emphatic oath-like affirmation — *"And indeed We have placed"* — to draw attention to one of His magnificent signs. He declares that He has set in the heavens great celestial mansions (the constellations) which serve as fixed stations for the sun, moon, and wandering planets. These are not random placements but precise, calculated positions that allow people to navigate their journeys through the darkness of land and sea, and to determine seasons, times, and even agricultural cycles of abundance and scarcity.
Then Allah says that He has adorned the sky with stars — a beauty that is not merely functional but also aesthetic, for those who lift their eyes upward. The adornment is for the *nāẓirīn*: those who look with the eyes of the heart, who pause to reflect, who see beyond the glittering lights to the Hand that placed them. Every star that twinkles in the vast darkness is a silent witness to the power, wisdom, and artistry of its Creator.
This verse is an invitation to wonder. When you stand under a clear night sky, dotted with countless stars, do you not feel a sense of awe? That awe is the beginning of faith. The One who arranged these celestial mansions and decorated the heavens with such perfection — can He not also manage your affairs, answer your prayers, and guide your path? The same Lord who set the stars in their courses has set your destiny in His merciful hands. So look up, reflect, and let the heavens remind you of the greatness of the One who created them — and who created you for a purpose far greater than this fleeting world.
