Key Words and Their Meanings:

(Allatheena sabaroo): Those who remained patient and steadfast.
(Wa 'ala Rabbihim yatawakkaloon): And upon their Lord they rely and place their trust.

Explanation of the Verse:

This noble verse describes the true believers who emigrated for the sake of Allah, leaving behind their homes, families, and familiar surroundings. They are characterized by two profound qualities:

First, patience (sabr) — they endured the harm and persecution of their people, the pain of separation from their loved ones and homeland, and they remained steadfast in obeying Allah's commands and avoiding His prohibitions. They also bore patiently whatever trials and hardships Allah decreed for them, knowing that His wisdom is perfect and His plan is beautiful.

Second, complete reliance upon Allah (tawakkul) — they entrusted all their affairs to their Lord alone, delegating every matter to Him with full confidence in His care, provision, and protection. They did not depend on their own strength or the support of others, but rather surrendered their hearts to Allah, knowing that He is the Best Disposer of affairs.

Because of these two qualities, Allah granted them a magnificent station and an immense reward. Their patience was not merely passive endurance, but an active, faith-filled perseverance rooted in certainty. Their trust was not a mere statement, but a living reality that shaped their actions and decisions.

A Da'wah Reflection:

Dear reader, reflect on the beauty of this verse! Allah is telling us that the path to His pleasure and reward is not through wealth, status, or worldly power, but through patience and trust in Him alone. When you combine patience with reliance upon Allah, you unlock a strength that no trial can shake and a peace that no hardship can disturb. These emigrants lost their homes, yet they gained something far greater — the love of their Lord and the promise of Paradise. Today, every believer who faces difficulties, who struggles to obey Allah in a world full of distractions, who endures criticism for their faith — they are walking the very same path. And the same reward awaits them. So take heart, be patient, and place your trust in Allah. He never abandons those who rely on Him.

📜 Verse 40-44 — An-Nahl

Indeed, Our word to a thing when We intend it is but that We say to it, "Be," and it is.
And those who emigrated for [the cause of] Allah after they had been wronged - We will surely settle them in this world in a good place; but the reward of the Hereafter is greater, if only they could know.
[They are] those who endured patiently and upon their Lord relied.
And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
[We sent them] with clear proofs and written ordinances. And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought.
