Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

(Utlu): Recite, read, and follow with devotion and commitment.
  • أُوحِيَ (Ūḥiya): That which has been revealed and inspired by Allah.
(Kitābi Rabbika): The Book of your Lord — the Qur’an.
(Lā Mubaddila): There is no changer, alterer, or substitute.
(Kalimātihi): His words — the divine revelations and decrees.
(Multaḥadan): A refuge, shelter, or place to turn to for protection and escape.

The Interpretation:

O Messenger, recite and act upon what your Lord has revealed to you from the Qur’an — for it is the ultimate truth and the final guidance for all of humanity. This Book is not like any other scripture; its words are absolute in their truthfulness and perfect in their justice. No one — neither human nor jinn — has the power to change, alter, or replace even a single letter of it, for it is preserved by Allah Himself. Its promises are certain, its commands are wise, and its warnings are just.

And if you — or any believer — were to seek a refuge or a shelter other than Allah, you would never find one. There is no escape from His decree, no sanctuary from His will, and no protector besides Him. When hardship strikes, when confusion clouds the heart, or when the world closes in on you, the only true haven is Allah and His revealed words. Every other refuge is illusory and fleeting.

This verse carries a profound lesson for every Muslim: the Qur’an is not merely a book to be read for blessings — it is a manual for life, a source of strength, and a shield against all forms of misguidance. In a world full of distractions, false ideologies, and ever-changing standards, the Qur’an stands firm and unaltered, a timeless beacon of light. So hold fast to it, recite it with reflection, and let it guide your steps. For whoever clings to the Book of Allah has indeed found the strongest handhold — one that will never break, and a refuge that will never fail.

Beloved reader, let this verse awaken in your heart a deep attachment to the Qur’an. Make it your companion in solitude, your counselor in decision-making, and your comfort in distress. For in its verses lies the cure for every ailment, the answer to every question, and the path to eternal success. Turn to Allah alone, for He is the only true protector, and His words are the only unchangeable truth in this ever-changing world.

📜 Verse 25-29 — Al-Kahf

And they remained in their cave for three hundred years and exceeded by nine.
Say, "Allah is most knowing of how long they remained. He has [knowledge of] the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. How Seeing is He and how Hearing! They have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His legislation with anyone."
And recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no changer of His words, and never will you find in other than Him a refuge.
And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.
And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve." Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them. And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like murky oil, which scalds [their] faces. Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place.
