Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • تَقَلُّبَكَ (taqallubaka): Your movement, turning, or changing of states and positions.
  • السَّاجِدِينَ (as-sājidīn): Those who prostrate; the worshippers, the believers who pray.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the beautiful description of Allah’s all-encompassing knowledge and care for His Messenger (peace be upon him). After mentioning that Allah sees him when he stands in prayer alone at night, the verse adds: "And your movement among those who prostrate."

This means that Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, observes the Prophet’s every movement and state as he prays alongside his companions — whether he is standing, bowing, prostrating, or sitting. Nothing escapes His sight. He sees the Prophet’s coming and going, his turning from one posture to another in prayer, and his interactions with the believers who worship alongside him. This is not merely about physical movement; it is a profound reassurance that the Prophet’s devotion, his leadership in prayer, and his role as an imam for the faithful are all witnessed and honored by the Almighty.

The verse also carries a deeper message: Allah’s watchfulness is not limited to solitary worship. He is equally present and aware when the believer moves within the community of worshippers. The Prophet’s movement among the believers — guiding them, teaching them, and leading them in prayer — is a sign of his complete submission and his living example of faith.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear believer, let this verse fill your heart with tranquility and awe. The same Allah who watches over His Prophet in the stillness of the night and in the midst of the congregation is watching over you. Your every bow, your every prostration, your every step toward the mosque, and your every moment spent in the company of the righteous is seen and known by Him.

Do you realize the honor of being among the "sājidīn" — those who prostrate before their Lord? When you join the rows of prayer, you are following in the footsteps of the best of creation. Your movements in prayer are not lost; they are recorded, cherished, and rewarded. So, strive to perfect your prayer, be mindful of your Lord, and take comfort in knowing that you are never alone. Allah sees you, hears you, and knows your intentions. Let this awareness transform your worship from a routine into a living, heartfelt connection with your Creator.

And to those who have not yet tasted the sweetness of this connection, know that the door of repentance and faith is wide open. Come and join the ranks of the sājidīn, and experience the peace that comes from being under the watchful, merciful eye of the Lord of all worlds.
