Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْكُفْرِ – Those who hasten and race towards disbelief, rushing into it without hesitation.
- حَظًّا – A share, portion, or lot (of goodness and reward).
- عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ – A severe, mighty, and painful punishment.
Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger of Allah, do not let the actions of those who rush headlong into disbelief grieve you or weigh heavily upon your heart. Their rapid descent into rejection of the truth—whether through hypocrisy, alliance with the enemies of faith, or persistence in stubborn denial—should not cause you sorrow or distress. For indeed, their haste in disbelief will never harm Allah in the least. They cannot diminish His sovereignty, weaken His religion, or frustrate His decree. Rather, their harm returns upon themselves, depriving them of the sweetness of faith, the light of guidance, and the immense rewards prepared for the believers.
Allah, in His perfect wisdom and justice, has willed that these people shall have no share of goodness in the Hereafter. Because they turned away from the call of truth and chose falsehood over guidance, Allah left them to their own devices—a form of divine justice that seals their fate. Their punishment is not merely the loss of reward, but a great and terrible chastisement awaiting them in the Fire, a consequence of their own choices and persistent rejection of mercy.
A Da'wah Reflection:
This verse carries a profound lesson of comfort and reassurance for every believer, especially those who carry the weight of calling others to Allah. When you see people rushing towards disbelief, rejecting the truth, or mocking the message, do not let it break your heart or shake your resolve. Your duty is to convey, and the outcome rests with Allah alone. Their actions do not harm Allah—they only harm themselves. This is a reminder that the success of the message is not measured by how many respond, but by your sincerity in delivering it. And for those who persist in disbelief, Allah's justice is perfect: they lose both this world's peace and the Hereafter's bliss. So take comfort in Allah's wisdom, trust His plan, and continue your mission with patience and hope. The reward of the believers is with Allah, and His promise is true.
