📖 English Meaning
And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah. They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

Tafsir (Interpretation):

This noble verse shines a light on the fact that not all People of the Book are the same. Among them are sincere believers who are not blinded by arrogance or worldly desires. These are people who truly believe in Allah as the One and Only Lord, with no partner or associate. They believe in what was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)—the Qur’an—and they also believe in what was revealed to the earlier prophets—the Torah and the Gospel in their original, unaltered form. They do not differentiate between the messengers of Allah; rather, they accept all of them as truthful and honored.

Their faith is not merely a claim on the tongue—it is accompanied by deep humility and submission to Allah. They lower themselves before Him, obey His commands, and stand in awe of His majesty. Unlike others who distort the scriptures for personal gain, these believers do not sell the verses of Allah for a miserable price. They do not hide the truth, nor do they twist the descriptions of the final Prophet (peace be upon him) out of fear of losing their worldly status or authority. They value the truth above all else.

For such people, Allah has promised a great and complete reward with their Lord. Their good deeds will not be diminished or lost. Indeed, Allah is swift in reckoning—He knows every deed, every intention, and every sacrifice, and He will reward them in full without delay.

A Da‘wah Reflection:

This verse is a powerful reminder that true faith is not limited to a particular nation or lineage. Allah judges hearts and deeds, not labels. It also gives us hope: anyone, from any background, who sincerely seeks the truth and submits to Allah will find His mercy and reward. It teaches us to respect the sincere seekers of truth among other communities, while remaining firm in our own belief in the final message of Islam. Let this verse inspire us to be among those who are humble, truthful, and unwavering in their commitment to Allah, no matter the cost. For Allah’s reward is far greater than anything this world can offer, and His reckoning is swift and just.

📜 Verse 197-200 — Aal-Imran

[It is but] a small enjoyment; then their [final] refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.
But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allah. And that which is with Allah is best for the righteous.
And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah. They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their reward with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.
