Tafsir (Explanation):
O Prophet, turn to your Lord in humble supplication and teach your Ummah this profound prayer of acknowledgment and praise: "O Allah, Owner of all dominion!" You alone possess absolute sovereignty over the heavens, the earth, and everything within them. You are the Master of all kings and kingdoms, of all rulers and realms — nothing moves in this universe except by Your will and permission.
You grant sovereignty and authority to whomever You choose among Your creation. You raise some to positions of leadership, power, and influence, and You strip authority from whomever You will, bringing down tyrants and removing rulers in the blink of an eye. You bestow honor and dignity upon whomever You wish — in this world and the Hereafter — and You humiliate whomever You wish, casting them into lowliness and disgrace. All of this happens according to Your perfect wisdom and absolute justice; no one can question Your decree, and no one can object to Your judgment.
In Your Hand alone is all goodness — every blessing, every mercy, every provision, and every benefit flows from You. And You are, over all things, All-Powerful. Nothing is too great for You, nothing escapes Your capability, and no obstacle can stand before Your will.
This verse carries a powerful lesson for every believer: true power belongs to Allah alone. When you see a ruler in authority, know that Allah placed them there — and when you see a tyrant removed, know that Allah removed them. Do not attach your heart to the powerful of this world, for they are merely instruments in the Hand of the Almighty. Instead, turn to the One whose Hand holds everything, and ask Him for goodness, honor, and success.
This is also a verse of immense hope and encouragement. No matter how difficult your circumstances may seem, remember that the One who controls all affairs is your Lord. He can change your situation in an instant — grant you honor after humiliation, wealth after poverty, and victory after defeat. So raise your hands to Him, place your trust in Him, and never despair of His mercy, for indeed, He is over all things Capable.
And in this verse, we affirm the beautiful attribute of Allah — that His Hand is real and befitting His majesty, without comparing it to creation and without distorting its meaning. We believe in it as it came, with complete faith and submission.
