Word Meanings:

  • Khālidīna fīhā: Abiding eternally therein, never to leave or die.
  • Waʿda Allāhi ḥaqqan: A true and certain promise from Allah that will undoubtedly be fulfilled.
  • Al-ʿAzīz: The All-Mighty, the One Whose power nothing can overcome or resist.
  • Al-Ḥakīm: The All-Wise, the One Who places everything in its perfect and proper place.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse is the concluding part of Allah’s description of the believers who do good deeds. After mentioning that they will be admitted to Gardens of Delight, Allah now emphasizes the nature of their stay there: they will live in those gardens forever, with no end, no interruption, and no expiry. Their joy will be everlasting, their peace unbroken, and their bliss complete. This is not a temporary reward that fades or a fleeting pleasure that diminishes—it is an eternal abode prepared for them by their Lord.

Allah then affirms that this is a true promise from Him—a promise that is certain and beyond any doubt. When Allah promises, He fulfills; His word is absolute truth, and He never breaks His covenant. This is a source of immense comfort and hope for the believer: the reward they strive for is guaranteed by the One Who owns everything and Whose promise is irrevocable.

Finally, Allah describes Himself with two of His beautiful attributes: He is Al-ʿAzīz—the All-Mighty, Whose power is supreme and Whom no force can challenge or defeat. And He is Al-Ḥakīm—the All-Wise, Who does everything with perfect wisdom, whether in His creation, His decree, or His legislation. His promise of eternal reward is not only an act of grace but also a manifestation of His perfect wisdom, for He knows that those who believed and did good deserve this everlasting honor.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder this magnificent promise! The One Who made this promise is not a human being who may forget, fail, or change their mind. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise—the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One Whose word is final and Whose promise is absolute truth. When He tells you that the believers will dwell forever in gardens of bliss, you can rest your heart upon it with complete certainty.

This verse invites you to ask yourself: *Am I among those who strive for this eternal reward?* The path is clear—faith in Allah and righteous deeds. Every good deed you do, every step you take toward obedience, every moment you resist sin for His sake—all of it is an investment in an everlasting life that never ends. How beautiful is the trade: a short, fleeting life spent in worship, exchanged for an eternity of joy and peace!

Let this promise fill your heart with hope and your soul with determination. Do not let the distractions of this world deceive you, for this world is but a passing shadow, while the Hereafter is the true and everlasting life. Turn to your Lord, seek His pleasure, and strive for His paradise—for His promise is true, and He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise.

📜 Verse 7-11 — Luqman

And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure.
Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.
This is the creation of Allah. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.
