Explanation of the Verse:

This noble verse addresses the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at a pivotal moment when they were given a profound choice. The Prophet had offered them the option of either remaining with him while enduring the simple, humble life of this world, or being released to seek worldly pleasures. In response, Allah — the Most Merciful — guided them to the higher path, saying: *"But if you desire Allah, His Messenger, and the abode of the Hereafter, then indeed Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward."*

The verse teaches us that true success lies not in the fleeting comforts of this world, but in the eternal joy of the Hereafter. When a person sincerely chooses Allah and His Messenger over worldly attractions, Allah does not leave them empty-handed. Rather, He promises a reward that is *"great"* — a reward beyond imagination, encompassing Paradise, divine pleasure, and everlasting happiness.

The context of this verse is deeply moving: the Prophet's wives were asked to choose between the luxuries of worldly life or remaining with the Messenger of Allah in patience and contentment. They chose Allah, His Messenger, and the Hereafter — a decision that brought them honor in this life and the next. Their choice serves as a timeless example for every believer: when faced with the temptation of worldly gains versus the pleasure of Allah, the believer must prioritize what is eternal over what is temporary.

For every Muslim woman and man today, this verse carries a beautiful message: sincerity in faith and excellence in deeds (iḥsān) are the keys to Allah's magnificent reward. Allah does not require us to abandon the world entirely, but He calls us to purify our intentions, to prefer His pleasure above all else, and to excel in our obedience and character. The reward He has prepared is not merely a small compensation — it is *"a great reward"* that fills the heart with peace, the soul with light, and the Hereafter with eternal bliss.

So let this verse inspire you, dear reader: whenever you are torn between the temporary allure of this world and the lasting beauty of faith, remember that Allah's promise is true and His reward is immense. Choose Him, and He will never disappoint you.

📜 Verse 27-31 — Al-Ahzab

And He caused you to inherit their land and their homes and their properties and a land which you have not trodden. And ever is Allah, over all things, competent.
O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you should desire the worldly life and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and give you a gracious release.
But if you should desire Allah and His Messenger and the home of the Hereafter - then indeed, Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward."
O wives of the Prophet, whoever of you should commit a clear immorality - for her the punishment would be doubled two fold, and ever is that, for Allah, easy.
And whoever of you devoutly obeys Allah and His Messenger and does righteousness - We will give her her reward twice; and We have prepared for her a noble provision.
