Surah Al-Ahzab — Verse 47

Word Meanings:

• "Bashshir" (بَشِّرْ): Give glad tidings, announce good news that brings joy and happiness to the heart.
• "Al-Mu'minin" (الْمُؤْمِنِينَ): Those who have true faith in Allah, His Messenger, and His commandments, and who act upon that faith.
• "Fadlan Kabira" (فَضْلًا كَبِيرًا): A great bounty, favor, or abundant reward from Allah—far beyond what one's deeds alone could merit.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O Prophet, deliver the most joyful news to the believers—those who sincerely believe in Allah and strive to obey what He has prescribed for them—that they have from their Lord a magnificent favor and an immense bounty. This great favor encompasses both worlds: in this life, Allah grants them victory, support, and tranquility of heart; and in the Hereafter, He has prepared for them the gardens of Paradise (Jannat), where they will dwell eternally in bliss, pleasure, and nearness to their Lord. This is not a reward they have earned by their own efforts alone, but a generous grace and favor from Allah—a gift that far surpasses anything they could ever deserve. It is a promise that is certain and true, for Allah never breaks His promise.

Dear believer, let this verse fill your heart with hope and joy! Allah Himself has commanded His beloved Prophet ﷺ to give you glad tidings—so rejoice in the certainty of His promise. Your Lord, the Most Merciful, has decreed for you a favor that is truly great: victory in this world and eternal bliss in the next. No matter how many trials you face, no matter how heavy your burdens, remember that your end is with Allah, and His bounty knows no limits. So hold fast to your faith, increase in good deeds, and let the sweetness of this promise carry you through every hardship. Indeed, the believer's life is one of optimism and trust in Allah's infinite generosity—so be among those who live with this beautiful hope, and share this glad tiding with others, that they too may taste the sweetness of faith.
