📖 English Meaning
He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.

Translation — Tafsir

Key Words and Their Meanings:

(Yūlij): He causes to enter or merge one thing into another.
(Sakhkhara): He subjected, subdued, and made subservient.
(Li-ajalin musammā): For an appointed, fixed term or period.
(Qitmīr): The thin, white membrane that covers a date pit (seed).

Explanation of the Verse:

In this profound verse, Allah draws our attention to His absolute power and sovereignty over the entire universe. He causes the night to enter into the day, and the day to enter into the night — meaning that He gradually increases the length of one at the expense of the other, making the hours of daylight grow as the hours of darkness shrink, and vice versa. This continuous, precise cycle is a sign of His perfect wisdom and control over time itself.

Furthermore, Allah has subjected the sun and the moon for our benefit. Both of them run their courses according to a precisely determined and appointed term — a fixed period known only to Allah, which will ultimately come to an end on the Day of Judgment. They do not deviate from their paths, nor do they act on their own; they are completely obedient to His command, serving as a testament to His flawless design.

Then Allah says: "That is Allah, your Lord — to Him belongs all dominion." The One who performs all these magnificent acts — regulating the night and day, and orchestrating the movement of celestial bodies — is none other than your Creator and Sustainer. All sovereignty, power, and authority belong to Him alone. He is the true King who manages the affairs of everything in existence.

Finally, Allah addresses those who worship false deities alongside Him: "And those whom you invoke besides Him do not possess even a Qitmīr" — that is, they do not own even the thin, insignificant membrane that clings to a date pit. This is the smallest, most trivial thing imaginable. So how can anyone worship beings that cannot even control such a minuscule matter, let alone the sun, the moon, or the alternation of night and day?

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this magnificent scene that unfolds before your eyes every single day. The sun rises and sets, the moon waxes and wanes, and the night gracefully gives way to the day — all in perfect harmony, without any conflict or disruption. This is not a random occurrence; it is the work of the Almighty, the All-Wise.

If you truly contemplate this, your heart will naturally incline toward the One who created all of this — Allah, the Lord of all worlds. He is the only One worthy of your worship, your love, and your obedience. The idols and false gods that people call upon have no power whatsoever — they cannot benefit you, harm you, or even possess the tiniest speck of this universe.

So turn to Allah with a sincere heart, thank Him for His countless blessings, and worship Him alone. He is the One who answers your prayers, sustains your life, and will ultimately judge you with perfect justice. Let this verse be a reminder that true success lies in submitting to the One who holds the dominion of the heavens and the earth — for He is the only God, and there is no deity worthy of worship except Him.

📜 Verse 11-15 — Fatir

And Allah created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop; then He made you mates. And no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge. And no aged person is granted [additional] life nor is his lifespan lessened but that it is in a register. Indeed, that for Allah is easy.
And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association. And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters].
O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
